The year isn't over, but we are in the home stretch. What are your favorites so far? Either books that came out this year, or previously published ones.
The tops of my list are Lewis Shiner's Outside the Gates of Eden and Dan Chaon's Ill Will. Both blew me away and are among the finest novels I have ever read.

I actually love the two entries from the King family. The Institute was my favorite Stephen King in a long time, and I thought Joe Hill's collection Full Throttle was amazing. I also liked a thriller by Joshylin Jackson called Never Have I Ever.

Welcome, Nick!
I like The Institute a lot, too. Not enough to list as a favorite, but I flew through it. I haven't read the Hill collection yet.

I picked up Chaon's Ill Will and Among The Missing (story collection) at a library sale recently. His work sounds interesting, glad to hear you enjoyed Ill Will, Mark.
