I tried. I really did.
I really liked Chbosky's The Perks of Being a Wallflower, and I thought the film was even more satisfying than the book. So when I heard that he was finally coming out with a new book, and a horror book, I was interested. I finally got my library reserve and dug straight in.
I struggled through fifty or so pages, cringing the whole time. Now, I like young adult stuff, and I love books with youthful protagonists, but Imaginary Friend seemed to be written down to remedial level. I gave it up. Life is way too short to trudge through books--especially long books--I am not enjoying.
Should I have continued?
