EVERYONE seems to be talking and raving about this one. So what the hey, I jumped on the bandwagon. After Shiner's mammoth Outside the Gates of Eden, I am ready for another epic. I love long books.

I am really interested in the premise. It reminds me of the dancing plague of 1518, where people suddenly danced (until death) for no reason. History is full of examples of unexplained physical rituals. There's an instance where all the kids in a European town suddenly got out of bed in the middle of the night and walked miles away in unison. I hope the novel ties the phenomenon back to its historical precedents.

The book has arrived at the library and is waiting for me to pick it up! So I'll be starting it soon.

I liked Wanderers a lot, with a couple of minor reservations. I felt that Wendig was a tad heavy-handed with his political convictions, and I found the ending to be unsatisfying. It appears as though he plans to continue on with the story. Still, a great, complicated story that brings to mind Robert McCammon.
