I am nearing the conclusion to Lewis Shiner's epic, nine-hundred page novel, Outside the Gates of Eden. It's surely one of the best books I have ever read. I have been wondering what the hell I can read in the aftermath of the emotional experience the Shiner book is. I got the answer today when an ARC of the Castle Rock-set Richard Chizmar Gwendy sequel arrived at my doorstep.
Whew.

I've got one on order from Amazon, but the delivery date is set to mid-December. :-(

the delivery date is set to mid-December. :-( Jeez, it must be selling like hotcakes. Chizmar must be thrilled. He deserves it. He definitely did King justice with Magic Feather.

I loved Magic Feather, and really all of Rich's work that I've read. I have no doubt this one is going to be another wonderful addition to his writing career.

I'm really looking forward to it. Button Box was excellent, and I've always loved Rich's voice in his short stories.

Well, even though Amazon said my copy would arrive in mid-December, it actually got delivered today!
And I realized I mis-spoke earlier in this thread when I said I loved Magic Feather....of course I meant Button Box.

Yes, Rich has said that he is unsure if Big Steve will collaborate or if it will be another solo venture. Either way I'm in.

Finished GMF last week and really enjoyed it.
Much more of a character driven story than a plot driven story, I thought Chizmar did an excellent job of placing the character of Gwendy 20 years in the future from GBB.
Can't wait for the third book.
