Flame Tree is a fairly new publisher who is getting off to a great start in the genre. Their flagship author at this point appears to be Jonathan Janz. It's good to start to get his books in affordable hardcovers. The old Samhain editions were pretty nice, but these Flame Tree books are gorgeous. I just picked up the reprint of Janz's first novel, The Sorrows. I already had The Siren and the Specter. Other authors in the Flame Tree roster include Ramsey Campbell, P.D. Cacek, Tim Waggoner. John Everson, and some writers I am unfamiliar with. I'm especially happy to see the underrated Brian Pinkerton have a book coming from them. Longtime fans are still smarting from the fall of Leisure Books. We need a mass market publisher and Flame Tree could be the one to fill in the gap. They were shrewd enough to hire Don D'Auria, so they are definitely on the right track. If you love this stuff, as I do (and being here at all indicates that you do), please buy a book or two from Flame Tree. They need us as much as we need them.
