Who's read this guy? I've heard great things. I snapped up a copy of his novel, Ill Will at a thrift shop recently and I hope to start it soon.

I read Ill Will, the closest recent author I found comparable is probably Gillian Flynn (a poor comparison.), it was a sad novel.

Sad as in tragic story, or poorly written sad?

Tragic story. It’s extremely well written.

I honestly don't know if I've ever read a better thriller. Extremely well-written, enormously disturbing, utterly compelling, and as Adam stated, excruciatingly sad. Ill Will is probably the best book I will read in 2019.
