One of my top favorite writers, Daniel Kraus, is on a hell of a roll. Late last year his bizarre Hard Case Crime novel, Blood Money, was released. On February 25th, his latest YA novel, Bent Heavens, comes out. I am a hundred pages in right now and it is great. This summer his posthumous collaboration with George Romero, The Living Dead, hits the streets. And the first part of a series for younger readers, The Threw Us Away, will be published.
I've been a rabid Kraus fan since I read his amazing Rotters back in 2011. His epic historical saga, The Death and Life of Zebulon Finch, is one of the best things I read in the twenty-teens.
Kraus collaborated with Guillermo del Toro on The Shape of Water and Trollhunters.
It seems like there is nothing this writer can't do. I'm excited for all of it.

I haven't read anything by Kraus yet, but definitely have my eye on his collaboration / completion of the Romero novel.

I know a lot of horror fans are excited about The Living Dead, but I can't emphasize Bent Heavens enough. My guess is, it will be the better book.
