I had dental work on Monday, so I took off on Tuesday to recover. I was in a bit of discomfort, but nothing too serious. It was a good excuse to have a restful day. I am on the go so much and I rarely do this.
I started off with some reading. I am on Lester del Rey's superlative The World of Science Fiction, 1926-1976: the History of a Subculture, which is a huge trip down memory lane for me.
Then I watched The Irishman. I have always liked Scorcese and there was little doubt that this one would be an exception. I thought the movie was absolutely wonderful, and I could have watched it for three more hours. De Niro was excellent, as was Pesci, but for me Pacino stole the show as Jimmy Hoffa. The movie might be have too much of a leisurely pace for some, but not me. The final half hour was emotionally devastating. Old Martin hasn't made a better picture in his life, I think.
Then more reading, a nap, and early to bed. How soon is it to retirement?

I wanted to retire until I took a serious look at my finances, and now I'm praying that I can work until I'm 85!
