A familiar face for movie and television fans, René Auberjonois is probably best known for his role in Deep Space Nine. Which is a show I never watched. He was in a lot of shows and movies. I probably know him best as Father Mulcahy from the MASH movie. He was in the De Laurentiis King Kong debacle, The Player, 3:15 The Moment of Truth, Eyes of Laura Mars, Where the Buffalo Roam, and a whole lot of other stuff. I really knew Auberjonois best from his work in the audiobook field. He narrated a bunch of Preston and Child books. According to IMDB, Rene Auberjonois had 228 screen credits. That's hard to beat. The guy was obviously a solid pro.

He was in the De Laurentiis King Kong debacle "... King Kong classic" I fixed that for you. And you should try Deep Space Nine. It's the darkest of all the Trek shows, and Odo was a fascinating character. I also enjoyed him a lot as Paul Lewiston on Boston Legal. Hunter

Sorry I have never been a fan of the 1976 version of Kong. Few seem to be. I remember this guy when I was growing up. He was PSYCHED for it. He even had a tee shirt for the movie well before its release. He saw it before I did, and when I ran into him after, he looked shell-shocked. He said that he had never seen a worse movie.

There's a whole Facebook group full of people who will disagree with "few seem to be." I was 12 when it came out, and I loved it. I loved it, still. Is it perfect? No. The matte effects, in particular, are pretty bad (and were then). But it has a better story and more heart than Peter Jackson's way-overblown 2005 version. And I'll take Rick Baker's awesome suit over the CGI anyday. Hunter

Great audiobook reader. I’ve enjoyed his reading of the Pendergast novels.

Here's some cellphone video I shared on Facebook. You should be able to watch it with or without a FB account. Alice Cooper, John Wesley Shipp, Kevin Conroy, John de Lancie, Barry Bostwick, and others wishing René Auberjonois "Happy Birthday" this past June in Richmond! Happy Birthday, René!
