The more I think about Halloween 2018, the more I don't like it. But then I am not much of a fan of any of the movies after Season of the Witch.
Reading: Charles L. Grant's Nightmare Seasons, and Issue 2 of the new Deep Red.
Watching: Clara and I watched the classic MST3K episode, Pod People, the other night. Other than that, nothing.
Listening: In the car, Alan Brennert's Palisades Park. Right now on the trusty turntable, Oingo Boingo's Boi-ngo.

Reading: The Outsider by Stephen King - In preparation for the new HBO series based on it.
Watching: Finished The Watchmen on HBO. I really dug that. Might start The Witcher on Netflix, or His Dark Materials on HBO next.
Listening: Not much, a podcast here and there.

Reading: The Outsider by Stephen King - In preparation for the new HBO series based on it. I see it was written by the great Richard Price!

Currently reading Classic Horror Stories - the Barnes & Nobel edition. Very good. A large book with a lot of truly great horror / weird fiction stories in it.

Watching: Last night we watched the Harlan Ellison documentary, Dreams With Sharp Teeth. On Friday my friend and I watched the blu-ray of Mountaintop Motel Massacre.
Listening: Various Frank Zappa albums.

Reading: nonfiction: Save the Cat. This is about screenwriting, and while I dabble in that field, I'm always trying to learn how to improve my writing. Fiction: November Road by Lou Berney. Anyone else read this one? It has a very distinct noirish style. Watching: About to start season 2 of YOU. Season 1, as well as the books, are so good. Listening: Fleetwood Mac and Talking Heads.

Glen, what did you think of Providence, by Kepnes? I like all her stuff, but that one is my favorite.

I haven't read Providence yet, but I do own it. Kepnes already falls into the category of "writers I don't want to finish reading." It's strange, I know, but for these writers I always want to have one book in reserve that I haven't read. I think this started after King's van accident.

Reading: The Passage by Cronin. Want to get into the whole trilogy. I own the books; now all I need is the time to invest.

I liked The Passage, but I never got around to the other two novels in the trilogy.

My wife and I have been thoroughly enjoying rewatching episodes of Fantasy Island, the original series. Seeing the guest stars every episode has been great fun. It's also amazing how often the guest stars were on the show. We've seen several actors who were on several episodes playing different characters even within a single season.
I'm about 60% through Mistress of the Art of Death, by Ariana Franklin. It was recommended to me by a lady who loves McCammon's Matthew Corbett books and loved the Matthew Shardlake novels by CJ Sansom that I had recommended to her. I'm enjoying the book. It's set around the same time as Cadfael, and is actually kind of similar, in that the main character can "read" corpses and understand how they died. But it's good.

I am reading a smart, dense horror novel called The Boy Who Drew Monsters, by Keith Donohue.
Clara and I plan to watch a classic episode of MST3K tonight. I'm thinking Outlaw, with Jack Palance.
I just listened to the final Boingo album. I think we will listen to The Monster Squad soundtrack in a little while.

This morning I finished The Willows and Other Nightmares by Algernon Blackwood. Classic stories from an author that was doing cosmic horror before HPL.
Plan on starting the anthology Lullabies for Suffering tonight.

The Passage trilogy is my all time favorite. It's an incredible story with filled with memorable characters that remained with me long after I finished reading City of Mirrors. Hope you enjoy them near as much as I did. B
