I hope you are making out all right in this situation.
Many are stuck at home. I wish I was. I am employed by the Navy and am considered "Essential Personnel". I have to continue to report in. "The Fleet is still moving", I am told. I'd give nearly anything to have a break and be able to stay home and read, do house and yard projects, and rest. I am working and running my ass harder than I ever have in my life.
I am a natural skeptic and distrustful and the government and the media. Yes, I've heard a lot of the conspiracy theories, and some seem credible. Yet I am taking this as seriously as I can. Washing my hands until they are raw, avoiding commonly touched items, staying as far from people as I can. Better to be safe.
No, we have not been able to obtain toilet paper. We have not run out yet, and we have paper towels if necessary.
I am staying away from social media as much as I can. Most people are reasonable but some are as crazy as those hoarding a thousand rolls of toilet paper. I get so tired of seeing people lash out at those who dare to perceive things differently than they do.
I have been taking a break from horror fiction. I read a book from Frank (TV's Frank, from Mystery Science Theater 3000) Conniff about the way bad movies have affected his life. I just finished a biography of Robin Williams, which was well-written and fascinating, but ultimately depressing as hell. Now I am reading a book that analyses every song Weird Al Yankovic has recorded. I'll get back to the scary stuff soon.
That's about it on our end. Clara's life is chaotic too, as she is dealing with the virus and its impact on the city of Virginia Beach. We're both just dealing with this thing day-by-day, and hoping for the best.
Take care and please touch in here if you are so inclined.

I'm sorta in your position too, as "essential personnel." I've worked every hurricane down here (Louisiana) for the past 16 yrs, and it appears that I also work for virus outbreaks. I expect I will be working the apocalypse as well
I'd also love a break, but this was the hand dealt right?
Still safe in Louisiana

Not to rub it in, but I'm lucky: I've been working out of my home for 25 years, so it's business as usual for me, work-wise, and I'm thankful for that.
Social media is annoying and depressing. Watching the news is annoying and depressing. We've started our umpteenth rewatch of Star Trek: The Next Generation, among other things. Babylon 5 and the various Star Trek series are our "comfort TV." I'm also rewatching Kolchak: The Night Stalker and Max Headroom.
Most of my reading lately has been old issues of Twilight Zone (but not the fiction, oddly enough) and Cinefantastique.
We didn't go out much before, so home-isolation hasn't really changed much for us. The KY governor closed all dine-in restaurants and bars last Monday, but we had already stopped eating out before that. Some are still open for takeout and delivery, but you have to have an awful lot of trust in the people preparing the food, and we don't.

Our quarantine situation is: Homeschooling kids, which means less time to work. Extra work, because websites are critical communication tools right now. We are grateful to have work, and we love our kids, so all is good within our walls. We're delivering groceries to my parents so they don't have to shop. We're trying to support local businesses that are taking a serious hit.
I'm reading The Changeling by Victor LaValle (almost done!). I'm binge-watching Community. I'm listening only to the local radio station, because it feels nice to have that human connection (and I know a lot of the DJs).
Stay strong, everyone!

I have The Ballad of Black Tom by LaValle, but have yet to read it. I love Community. It's supposed to be available for streaming on Netflix in April. So, I'm sure my wife and I will be rewatching it again soon. We're are lucky in that my wife and I are both able to work from home so we don't have to deal with the worry that so many others are going through. I feel for a lot of people during this craziness. Stay strong and safe everyone. -A.J.

Still no real relief in sight. I am hoping for a return to normalcy by the end of May.

The writing is beautiful and simple, which I know is not as easy as it seems. Community is awesome, too! I just started season 3. The weirder it gets, the more I like it.

The world is still weird and Clara and I are still working every day. It is unnerving to be around so many scared people and so many in masks and other personal protective equipment. So far our health remains good. Other than the usual Spring allergies. It's hard to not give in to paranoia and start to think that we are getting IT. But we have no fever and I've dealt with this stuff for a long time. I know the difference between allergic reaction and the flu.
I hope everyone is reading good books and watching great movies and shows. With luck we will be back to normal soon. It's looking like June at the soonest.

Still under stay home here in GA, but the governor announced yesterday that bowling alleys, movie theaters, salons, (and of all things) massage and tattoo parlors can open back up on Friday. Restaurants will be allowed to open back up for in-store customers next Monday. Must adhere to social distancing guidelines that will be announced tomorrow. B

Things are mostly unchanged here. Of course people are fighting and shaming one another. Our species has always had the dependency, but social media has made it infinitely worse.

People have told me that they miss the message boards, but the inescapable conclusion is, if at a time when most are stuck at home twiddling their thumbs doesn't revive it, nothing will. I appreciate those who have contributed here. I've invited a lot of people, but most have not come. I'll keep at it, but the message is clear.
