My most anticipated book publication of 2019 is coming soon. It's the latest Matthew Corbett novel from the incomparable Robert McCammon. I've read all the earlier ones, of course, but I'm rereading Freedom of the Mask in preparation for the event. I want to read all of them again, but I mostly wanted to refresh my brain about recent situations in the series. Freedom was easily the most brutal adventure for our poor hero.
We can hardly stand to wait Please Cemetery Dance don't be late

Now they're saying it's going to be a three month delay on publication. I wouldn't have started reading Freedom again had I known that.

I had forgotten how disturbing the end of Freedom of the Mask is, and how scary a character is Cardinal Black.

Robert McCammon has released a free short story called "The Pale Pipesmoker" to tide you over until the release of Cardinal Black. The story features Katherine Herrald and Minx Cutter from Matthew Corbett's world. You can read it on or download it from his website. www.robertmccammon.com/the-pale-pipesmoker/Hunter

Wow, I thought Mister Slaughter was a bit brutal....had to stop and take it back to the library...then got it out again when I was better prepared...that's as far as I've gotten in the series, because those books are unavailable here...I just may have to get them Kobo-ized, cause I've SO enjoyed every one of these wonderful books!

I'm hoping that The Pale Pipesmoker ends up in a collection someday, because I do hate reading on a computer.

I'm hoping that The Pale Pipesmoker ends up in a collection someday, because I do hate reading on a computer. That's what e-readers or tablets are for, Mark! I do most of my reading these days using my Kindle Paperwhite. It's not a book, but it works well and has some advantages. You can also download the PDF file and print a copy. It's possible a collection will be done after the last Matthew book is published, but Rick's whole point with this story was to make it a free gift to his readers. Hunter

Can't wait til this is released.
But I must say that I'm tired of seeing people brag about having ARCs of CARDINAL BLACK that haven't even read the other Corbett books AND some aren't even McCammon fans
grr

I'm one behind in the series, I just read Freedom of the Mask, but man, I am absolutely in love with this series, and Mask was exceptional. Such a gripping read. Man, McCammon has the stuff.

Cardinal Black has a more leisurely pace than I expected after Freedom of the Mask. At least for the first half. Don't get me wrong: It's magnificent.

Any word on an estimated release date of the next Matthew Corbett novel? I believe Hunter has stated that Mr. McCammon is working on it, wonder if there is ANY chance it will be published in 2020? Guessing it will more likely see a 2021 publication.
